Some people said that becoming an entrepreneur is harder than it looks. We all know that everything is not going to be easy, especially to become the successful entrepreneur. Sometimes, people might think that as a new entrepreneur, money is everything to start their business. However, everything is possible if someone has been able to take a chance and decide what they want to do and go for it.  In this topic, I definitely agree that everyone should be an entrepreneur and not to be afraid of being one. Here are three reasons why we should be an entrepreneur.

First is to push economic growth. President Joko Widodo says that do not be afraid to start (http://www.thejakartapost.com/news/2017/03/27/dont-be-afraid-to-start-businesses-jokowi-tells-youth.html). The fact that a tougher competition will be happened in Indonesia, and the world is becoming much more open. Basically, becoming the entrepreneur is one of the important things to support our country during the global competition. Indonesia needs more young entrepreneurs, especially to boost Indonesia’s economic growth. It meant that to grow an entrepreneurship in Indonesia, the new market or new wealth is sure to be developed. For instance, as increasing of the employment, it would contribute to add the national income and Indonesia economic growth still remains well. That is why, to push economic growth, the entrepreneur should be in Indonesia because Indonesia economic growth still depends on the entrepreneurship.

Secondly, the main reason why we should be an entrepreneur is to reduce unemployment. We all know that a workforce in Indonesia grows faster than job opportunities. The fact that so many Indonesian who do not have the job. According to Jakarta post, youth unemployment for those aged 15 to 24 is a serious problem in Indonesia (http://www.thejakartapost.com/news/2016/11/01/productive-indonesians-struggle-to-find-jobs.html). Indonesia still faces an unemployment problem and no doubt about it. In fact, the existing of the entrepreneurship is needed to overcome the unemployment. We can see that the workforce in Indonesia grows faster instead of having the job opportunities. In my opinion, the entrepreneur should be needed in providing new businesses to hire the employees who do not have the job. Because, there are still some employees out here who do not have the opportunities to have a jobs and usually, it happened in Indonesia because of they have no skill or lack the education. Thus, the entrepreneur should be there to overcome this problem whether to hire or to increase their quality of life.

Thirdly, the last reason why we should be the entrepreneur is to live a meaningful life. Basically, passion is a key to keep a business strategy moving forward. It means that you will take control of your life to make your dream come true. Steve Jobs has said that “People with passion can change the world” (https://www.entrepreneur.com/article/248079) and I definitely agreed about that. Being the entrepreneur is not just talking about how to get money, but it is talking about your pure satisfaction. Some say that as long as you follow your passion, a success will follow and it is true. Thus, do not be afraid to become one because everyone can be the entrepreneur and if you get into it, you will truly aware that your satisfaction is not just how to earn money but it is about something more to make your live meaningful.

Some people argued that becoming the entrepreneur is harder than it looks and to start new businesses, some say that you need to have some money first before you start. Everything of what they said is true, but if you do not try it, you will never know how to learn. It means that try something new and you will learn something from that. The fact that people out there are still afraid to take the risk, especially to become the entrepreneur. However, no one ever realizes that the process of learning is needed to become a better one.

In my opinion, there are still pros and cons about this topic, but I believed that everyone should be the entrepreneur, especially in Indonesia. It is good to have had a fear, but you need to go out from your comfort zone. Usually, the life begins at the end of your comfort zone and if you make some mistakes, it does not mean you will lose everything. Hence, I believed that everything is not going to be easy in life and it needs risks to get something. And making some mistakes is just the process of learning and if you do not try something new, you will never learn something in life.

There are three things I like to do in spare time. First is playing basketball. We all know that everyone loves basketball. There are lots of benefits we can get from playing basketball and the most one is to burn calories. I really like playing basketball because it would help me to get a proper shape. Sometimes, I usually watch some videos before doing my homework because it would help me to work optimally in getting a new idea. Thirdly, The next hobby I really like to do is listening to music. Listening to music always makes me feel more comfortable in my life. I usually listen to music all the time, especially when doing my homework or studying before the exam. Another reason why I like listening to music is it also could make my mood changed easily. In short, doing something that you really enjoy is the most important things you must have in your life and the person who makes you enjoy yourselves is you because there’s too many things you can do to make you feel more relaxed and of course only you whose the person who can make your life colorful.

In general, hobby is the activity that lots of people like doing in their spare time. It is said to be the most important thing that you must have to enjoy yourselves in everyday life. In modern era, people have so many things to enjoy their life and usually, the hobby should be done by doing something that people really enjoy and of course it happens to me. For instance, I usually do something that I really enjoy and it also helps me to reduce my stress. There are three things I like to do in my spare time.

The first is playing basketball. We all know that everyone loves basketball. Basically, playing basketball is said to be the most important activity for all people around the world. For me, I love playing basketball because one of the most benefit I can get from playing basketball is to burn my calories. Based on my experience, it’s easy for me to lose my weight naturally rather than cutting down on fatty food in every single day. Furthermore, another reason why I love playing basketball is I can make new friends outside the class. For me, it’s so boring when you just sit on the chair, keep paying attention, and do your homework all the time and it seems like to have forgotten how you enjoy yourselves. To be honest, I’m an introvert person and it’s quite difficult for me to make new friends that I have never met before. But, everything is possible for me by playing basketball. I can make new friends outside the class and it is so worthy because I can learn something new from them that I never knew before. Lastly, the reason why I like playing basketball is to reduce my stress. For me, playing basketball is the best way to make me feel more relaxed and not feel stressed at all because it helps me to stay focus and it also helps me to work optimally under any circumstances.

Secondly, another thing I like to do is watching some videos on YouTube. The reason why I like watching some videos on YouTube is to enjoy myself while I felt bored. Sometimes, I usually watch some videos on YouTube when I feel bored and I think it’s quite a simple way to kill my time. And another reason why I really like watching videos on YouTube is to get more knowledge. By watching some videos on YouTube, it helps me to get more knowledge about something that I have never known before. For instance, I used to watch the tutorial regarding how to play guitar on YouTube since I was in Senior High School. It was a big change for me to show my friends that I could play guitar without having a teacher and it was so worthy to me because I didn’t need to pay to get knowledge. Thirdly, the last reason why I like watching on YouTube because it would help me to get new ideas. Sometimes, I usually watch some videos on YouTube when I’m stuck in something. It takes time to get new ideas. But, it’s quite easy for me to get new ideas in short time by watching an interesting video I like.

Thirdly, the last thing that I always do every single day in my life is listening to music. Listening to music always makes me feel more comfortable in my life. Honestly, I do not know why when I listen to music I feel more comfortable and it also helps me to make me happier. Furthermore, another reason why I love listening to music in every single day in my life is I could get my mood changed easily. I usually listen to music when I am sad, furious and any kinds of feelings that I have to face and besides there’s one another reason why I love listening to music is it can help me to have a sleep well. Sometimes, it’s hard for me to have a sleep well because there’s one time that I always remember what things I need to do for tomorrow. For example, doing my homework. When I have some homework to be done as soon as possible, I do not know why I always worry about it. I think it is natural for the pupil, especially to me to think about when the homework should be submitted. However, by listening to music, it helps me to keep calm and it helps me to have a sleep well at night.

In short, doing something that you really enjoy is the most important things you must have in your life and the person who makes you enjoy yourselves is you because there’s too many things you can do to make you feel more relaxed and of course only you whose the person who can make your life colorful.

History of My Country

The Life of B.J. Habibie

B.J. Habibie was born on June 25, 1936 in Parepare, South Sulawesi Province. First of all, he was officially elected as the third president of Republic Indonesia from 1998 to 1999. In fact, he was elected as the third president of Republic Indonesia after Suharto resigned in 1998. The reason why Suharto resigned in 1998 because Suharto’s policy brought Indonesia’s economy to the disaster and the economy was awfully terrible back then in Indonesia. Although he has only led Indonesia for a year, he has been an influential person who kept inspiring all young people in Indonesia through all of his creations. One of the most remarkable things that he has developed is the theory of an aircraft. As the founder of the theory of an aircraft, he managed to invent the theory of the aircraft named “Habibie factor” that can be used to reduce the weight of the plane until 25% than before to improve the safety of the aircraft from the accident. Secondly, another remarkable thing that he has developed is N-250. The reason why N-250 is the second of a remarkable thing because N-250 is the first aircraft propeller in Indonesia since 1995 with the fly-by-wire system and it makes N-250 has become one of the best aircraft propeller at that time. Since that day, B.J. Habibie has been an influential person in Indonesia who kept inspiring all people until now. It’s been proved since he developed an institution called “Ikatan Cendekiawan Muslim Indonesia” which means being someone who has good integrity, it will help you in achieving success.

The National Monument

Monas, one of the most popular monument in Jakarta, has been a good example of an important building in my country. The National Monument or simply known as “Monas” is located in the center of Merdeka Square in central Jakarta. Firstly, one of the most interesting you want to know is the history of the National Monument. In fact, the construction started in 1961 during Soekarno’s era and officially to be opened to the public in 1975 and it was also built to commemorate all Indonesian with a symbol of their effort to have got freedom from Dutch colonial rule. Moreover, the second thing that you need to know about the National Monument is what the National Monument has served for us. Some say if you go to Monas, you can do a sightseeing anytime you want. That’s right but it’s not quite an interesting answer, is it? the second thing that you have to know about that is the National monument consists of Indonesian history and a meditation hall that display an authentic copy of the declaration of Indonesian independence which is read by Soekarno on that day. Thirdly, the last thing  you have to know about the National Monument is it is also easily accessible via any kinds of transportation and of course it is open every day. In fact, It is easy for us to find any kinds of transportation you like, such as taxi or TransJakarta bus in the morning. Besides, since April 2016, the national monument has been opened at night from seven to ten in Tuesday through Friday and it’s also open at night from seven to twelve in Saturday through Sunday. In short, you can come anytime you want because the National monument is open every day from eight to three, except for the last Monday of every month due to it will be closed for maintenance.

Indonesian Independence Day

We all know that on August 17, 1945, is the most historical day for all Indonesian. Basically, Indonesian Independence Day is declared to have had freedom from Dutch colonialism in which all of Indonesian were happy that Indonesia has become an Independence nation. In fact, long time ago, Indonesia has been through a lot on long historical journey since the Dutch colonialism existed where all Indonesian have ever been treated unfair during the war against the Dutch. The fact that thousands of people were died on that day. Besides, lots of heroes in Indonesia also died since that day especially who tried to defend our country. Those heroes are included: Thomas Matulessy, Prince Diponegoro of Mataram, Tuanku Imam Bonjol, and so on. Although, all those efforts of Independence have failed, Indonesian nationalists still began to think about how to struggle against Dutch colonialism. However, once a upon a time, Japanese invaded the Dutch and finally the Dutch surrendered in March, 1942. It was lucky for Indonesian to have their flag recognized and it was also followed by the recognition of “Indonesia Raya” as the national song after the Indonesian rebellions were quite strong enough to have the Japanese surrendered. Having dropped the atomic bomb in Hiroshima and Nagasaki on August 6 and 9, the Japanese was forced to surrender unconditionally to the allies. In short, It was a good chance for Ir. Soekarno and Drs. Mohammad Hatta to proclaim Indonesia’s Independence on August 17, 1945 and since that day Indonesia has become Independence as the nation.

Independence Day

Independence Day is a special day for all Indonesian people. Typically, Indonesian really love this celebration. For instance, they would play lots of activities to celebrate Indonesia’s Independence Day on August 17. Personally, I am so excited during the Independence Day. The reason why I like this celebration is Independence Day always reminds me when I was in Senior High School. The first thing I used to do is sack races. It was so exciting back then when all the boys tried to do their best to win. For me, it was quite challenging because you need to keep your balance steady and jumping forward at the same time. Secondly, another thing I used to do when I was in Senior High School is Tug of war. Everyone loves doing Tug of war but not all. Honestly, I really don’t like doing Tug of war. Based on my experience, I got both of my hands injured. After I got my hands injured, I was taken by the teacher to recover my hands as soon as possible. Personally, it was the worst experience because the blood was everywhere surrounding my hands. Thirdly, the final activity I used to do during the Independence Day is water balloon games. It was my favourite one when I was in Senior High School. We were so exciting when we tried to pass “water balloon” to the others. I have really enjoyed and I also missed that moment of what my classmates and I used to do during the Independence Day. In short, the moment I used to do during the Independence Day is the most memorable thing I have ever had in my life. Although the time has passed and we didn’t win though, the most important thing is whatever I used to do with my friends during the Independence Day is still kept inside my mind. For me, winning is just a small piece of cake and I don’t really care about it because the precious one is the moment of what I used to do with my classmates since I was in Senior High School.

This is a letter I am writing to myself with three personal goals in it. I will open this letter after I finish studying in President University. The personal goals I have set for myself which are improving my English skills, being good leader in organization, and getting good score in academic aspects. Now I will explain why I chose these goals.

First, Improving my English skills. Mostly, English is very important for all people. Especially for me as the student. Previously, when I was in senior high school, I was not interested in English at all. But everything has changed when one of my best friends in senior high school told me that English was very important, particularly about making a communication with a lot of people there who comes from different country and culture.   Also, my friend said, “we couldn’t live without English and I certainly realize about that”. So, After I had heard what did he say to me, I intended to study a lot like studying grammar, listening,and so on when I was in senior high school. But still, I realized that it wasn’t enough. And then, I decided to choose President University to improve my English skills Like grammar, listening, speaking, and etc to fulfill my infirmity in English.

Next, Being good leader in organization. Basically, being a good leader in one organization is very hard thing to achieve isn’t it? Like we need to have the quality of dependable, responsibility, integrity, and so on right? . Actually, I have never joined any kinds organization before since I was in senior high school. But still, I believe that nothing is impossible for those people who want to try to achieve their dreams. Especially for me. But, it’s very  awkward isn’t it? if I immediately become leader without feel how it’s really hard to become a member first. So, to achieve my second goals, next year I will  obviously join the organization to develop myself Like how to become more discipline, responsible and not to mention about how to learn cooperating as well.

Finally, Getting good score in academic aspects. As we know before, we are students and so do I.  If we talk about the students, we definitely talk about our responsibility or priority like doing homework, studying, and so on right? But still, sometimes some of students have forgotten that. So I or simply known as student, I committed that I want to study harder in order to make my parents proud and happy, also.

So Based on my three goals I’ve set, to achieve my personal goals is not going to be easy and I will definitely face many kinds of challenges there. But, if I do with diligence, hard working, and conviction I believe that everything will be fine and it is going to be easy as well even though taking a long time. Lecturers are responsible for motivating students to learn

In general, there are a lot of pros and cons about is motivating students to learn one of lecturers responsibilities? Some people stated that the lecturers shouldn’t motivate the students, considering the function from lecturers job is only teach not for motivating the students. But on the contrary, I believe that lecturers are not only responsible for teaching the students but also for motivating too.

Basically, motivation could boost student’s desire in learning. As we know, some people need a motivation especially for students. Moreover, we often see many of students nowadays be able to indifferent in learning and so apprehensively. Like sleeping in classes, don’t pay attention, and many kinds of stuff that students currently do in the classroom. Thus, based on of those things happened nowadays, lecturers have to create an efficient ways to make students become more diligent in studying and learning such as lecturers will be able to create a pleasant atmosphere for students like make a small groups and mentoring for instance. In this method, students could learn how to cooperate, and expressing their opinion. So all of these ways will motivate students to learn and trying to do their best.

The second, motivation could boost students’ achievements. Some people stated that students could be smarter than lecturers. isn’t it? As we know, students could get more knowledge from anywhere for example like book, newspaper, internet, and etc. But still, if students don’t have intention in studying or learning, the result is nothing. Because  motivation is really important for students to reach their goals and also achievements indeed. Therefor, motivation from lecturers is needed for students.

The third, motivation is the basis in learning. It means that motivation is also lead the students to achieve what are they expected in the future. Sometimes, some of students don’t comprehend what purposes of learning itself. As we know, students only know learning is having more knowledge through studying from the books but still the purposes of learning is not only like that. Hence, the solution what are they need to solve these problems which is motivation. Because lecturers motivation will be able to activate  students to learn something new which could be some reference for themselves in the future.

On the other hand, some people think that motivating students to learn is not lecturers’ responsibility. Because they are not children who need guidance every time they are going to decide on something. Further, some people stated that students are not supposed to count on their lecturers. it causes the main duty of lecturers is teaching, not motivating.

In conclusion, motivation from lecturers is needed for students. Because it will be better if they need to improve the motivation as well in order to make students have intention in studying and learning more in everyday life. Also, motivating students is lecturers responsibilities. it means that motivation could help students to achieve their goals in the future and not to mention to reach an achievements as well.

In general, eating is one of the necessary for all people. Especially for the students who living at dorm. As we know, there are many kinds of option that the students will choose where the best places to eat something but not to mention about followed by the lower prices too. Sometimes, based on my experiences since I’ve been living here (at dorm) in the President University I thought that how I could eat with an achievable price and getting a healthy food here. But when i talked to my friends about this problem, my friends said that “Don’t worry bro, everything will be fine”. Then, when i heard what he had said before I was really confused. And still, I immediately asked to him WHY? and he explained that you just choose “delivery or going to city walk”. And when I heard his statement, I was really interesting to make some research in my class such as After you are hungry, where do you usually go to eat? Delivery, going to city walk or Don’t know? and, I got the result yesterday.

50% of the students in President University already decided to choose delivery to eat in their dorm. Based on I had read before there are many reasons why they decided to choose delivery. One of them consists of they are really lazy going to city walk as well because they think that it’s too far from their dorm. The other reason, they said to me that going to city walk wasting their time during many kinds of activity in their room like studying, doing assignment, and so on.

The second answer based on the questionnaire I had made before that’s only about 25% students in President University already choose going to city walk to eat something when they are hungry. Because they think that going to city walk it will burn some of calories in their body. And the other reason why they choose going to city walk is the best answer caused by In city walk, there are many kinds of restaurants that serve a variety food for all people and not to mention about the students as well.

Then, the third answer based on the questionnaire I had made before that’s only about 5% still don’t know whether delivery or going to city walk. Sometimes, some of students  wanted to save their money and the other reason why they still confused because they still don’t know where they could buy some of food with an achievable prices.

In conclusion, most of the students President University decided to delivery than going to city walk because they are really lazy going to city walk as well because they think that it’s too far from their dorm and not to mention about  wasting their time too during many kinds of activity in their room.
